Naples was first inhabited by the Caloosa Indians then founded in 1885 by Walter N. Halderman, owner-publisher of the Louisville Courier Journal and General John S. Williams, a prominent Kentucky politician, that promoted the area as a refuge for Northerners who could escape the bitter cold winters.  Today this beautiful tropical paradise is still a winter escape for many.   It’s warm weather and fresh air is ideal for year-round living.  

Naples is known for it’s luxury lifestyle, multimillion-dollar homes, many golf courses, and beautiful beaches.  Naples offers a variety of high-end shopping and fine restaurants.  Home to Sugden Community Theatre on Fifth Avenue and Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts, Naples also offers an active cultural and arts scene.
